Playing with Food, with @idafroskWant to see more of Ida’s food creations? Be sure to follow her on Instagram @idafrosk.
Just a few months after creating an Instagram account, Ida Frosk (@idafrosk) posted a photo of a work of food art she’d created on a whim—a bear and fox toast—and the positive feedback was immediate. What could be better than food, art, and puns rolled into one?
From that first photo forward, Ida has pursued her interest with precision and humor. Her creations draw inspiration from everyday events, ingredient combinations she has available at her home in Oslo, and funny wordplay she comes across. “I usually decide what I want to eat, then associate freely from that with whatever ingredients I have at hand. The majority of my photos are breakfasts; I usually keep my other meals more normal.”
Ramadan Begins#Ramadan, the Muslim holy month, begins around the world this weekend. No food or drink is allowed from dawn to dusk during Ramadan, but when it’s time to eat, the suhoor (morning meal) and iftar (evening meal) can be feasts.
Muslims believe Allah revealed the first verses of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad during Ramadan. The sighting of the new moon officially signals the start of the holiday and since the Muslim lunar calendar moves back through the seasons, Ramadan starts 11 days earlier each year under the Western calendar. The holiday began in Thailand and Indonesia on Friday. India, Pakistan, Malaysia and Bangladesh will start Saturday or Sunday.

Salar de UyuniWe want to see your travel photos! Know of a beautiful and often Instagrammed location that you’d love to see featured? Send us a note through Tumblr!
Remnants of a giant prehistoric lake, Salar de Uyuni is the world’s largest salt flat — spanning a vast 10,582 square kilometers (4,086 square miles).
Photographers flock to this beautiful white crystalline location, near the crest of the Andes mountains in Bolivia, in order to take advantage of the fantastical landscape. In the dry season this salt flat is a seemingly endless sparking white sea and, when covered with rain water, it’s transformed into the largest mirror on Earth, perfectly reflecting the entire sky.
LA DOUBLE VIE | Double exposures
Photographer Michel Assaad
I’ve always been fascinated by the concept of double exposures that i recently decided to give it a go . Unfortunately my DSLR doesn’t support in camera exposure blending , so i did it in Photoshop .
I wanted to keep things as natural as can be , that’s why you’ll find spots that could’ve been cloned out , healed or burned to get a perfect shot but perfection wasn’t something i was going for , it was complete opposite that i seeked . - Michel Assaad
